Fidel Castro: Ramonet Book Opportune
Cuban President Fidel Castro said the book “Cien Horas con Fidel” (One Hundred Hours with Fidel) by French academic Ignacio Ramonet is a tool for struggle at an important moment. Ramonet Happy with Fidel Castro Book
During the book launching Tuesday, in the presence of Ramonet and hundreds of guests, Fidel Castro repeated his challenge to Forbes magazine and the US administration that he would resign his position as head of the country’s State Council if they can present one piece of evidence that he has a fortune.
The Cuban leader refuted on Monday allegations published by the US financial magazine Forbes, including that he is one of the 10 richest leaders of the world.
Fidel Castro praised Ramonet’s book as exceptional, and congratulated the author for his interviewing ideas and technique.
Culture Minister Abel Prieto recognized that some of Ramonet´s questions reflected honest doubts and others were purposely chosen from the anti-Cuban campaigns.
